An excellent and rare Buffet Crampon ring flute, dating the first years of the second half of the 19th century when Buffet was still a craftsman builder. The flute only descends to D flat. It was believed that the flute descended in D flat offered better sound quality. The tuning mechanism is present. Manufacture is superior quality, small ring keys fixed to rods not by pins but by screws. Note that the B Bb lever is not the Briccialdi Bb lever; as this lever appears in 1850 the flute can be dated before 1850. The flute has been completely restored and is ready for playing.
