Denis Buffet  (1783-1841) married Marie-Anne Auger in 1808 and became known as Buffet Auger. Born in La Couture he moved to Paris where in 1825 opened his workshop.  In 1836 Denis’ son Jean-Louis married Zoe Crampon the company name became Buffet Crampon. This flute is a very interesting and rare flute marked " Buffet Auger a  Paris". Dated around 1825-1830 it presents the plate fixing for the five keys that was a mid step between wood mounting and pillar mounting, when makers did not still trust to use pillars in the wood. The flute is in very good condition, no cracks, all the keys working, beautiful boxwood, sliding section working. Missing cap and tuning screw, The flute is610 mm long, the sounding lenght is 540, weight is 232g and the pitch is 440.
