Hermann Zuleger (1895–1948) was a Viennese flute and oboe maker. He began his apprenticeship in Graslitz, a Bohemian town specializing in the production of wind instruments. In 1912, he opened his own workshop in Vienna. The flute I present to you is a typical reform flute, that is, one of those conical-bore flutes with numerous keys according to the Schwedler model, named after the flautist Maximilian Schwedler, who sought to perfect this type of flute, believing it to have a better sound than the Boehm flute, an opinion shared by Wagner. This instrument is in excellent condition and comes with its original case. The flute plays but needs new pads.  The case is sound but worn and, incredible, has got the key!
