Agostino Rampone's factory in Milan was the most important in Italy. Production began around 1850 and is still active today, although it has abandoned flute production in favour of brass instruments. The golden age of Rampone's production was between the late 19th and early 20th centuries when sophisticated flutes, like the piccolo featured here, were created..This piccolo is a beautiful double chamber octave, conical, 6 keys; this means that the flute was built putting together two metal tubes,inside and outside, a work that needed a great skill because they are conical. A real masterpiece. Another flute by Rampone, same built, is offered in this site. The flute is not marked (this happened frequently and it is not clear  why) but is certainly attributable to Rampone. The  instrument, is complete, no dings, working mechanics, needs new pads.
