I’m an amateur flutist and I’ve been playing for forty years. My passion for historical flutes began when I bought a Louis Lot for a modest price in 1986 at a stall in Granada. Since then, I’ve collected about a hundred flutes and have become interested in the history of the flute; in particular, I experienced the birth of music performed on original instruments when, in the 1970s, Frans Bruggen, Gustav Leonhardt, Anner Bijlsma, and others came to play at San Maurizio in Milan. I’ve worked as a journalist and photographer all my life; now retired, I’ve decided to open this business to sell my collection, of which I’ll keep only about ten instruments. This activity is very interesting because it puts me in touch with musicians and with developments in musical research, particularly the 19th century. The field of knowledge about historical flutes is immense, and I only know a small part of it, so I ask for your patience if I make mistakes and help me expand my knowledge.
