Luigi Vanotti opened his workshop in Milan in 1909, dedicating himself to the construction of Boehm flutes and collaborating with Abelardo Albisi on the construction of special flutes, including the famous Albisiphon. The instrument I present bears the engraving on the headjoint: "L. Vanotti, Milan, patented" and on the body: "L. Vanotti, Milan, 6062, patented". Vanotti flutes reflect the construction quality of Milanese flutes and are today sought-after objects by collectors. Vanotti ended production in 1940, his son Piero continued it until the 1990s, but with less attention to quality. The flute I present plays on the original pads. Nice periodo case, not original. The flute plays at 440 and weighs 431 g.
